Cuidados com a pelagem do Lulu da pomerânia (Spitz alemão)

CONHECIDO por sua exuberante pelagem, apesar do pequeno porte, o Spitz é uma raça muita antiga. Aqui no Brasil a raça ganhou o nome de Lulu da Pomerânia e popularidade por ser um ótimo cão de companhia.

A RECENTE popularidade, entretanto, pegou muitos tosadores desavisados e despreparados. Não acostumados com a pelagem da raça, muitos Spitz acabam recebendo um tratamento inadequado no petshop. O que pouca gente sabe é que o Lulu da Pomerânia pertence ao grupo 5 da classificação da Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), que inclui raças bem populares no Brasil, como o Chow-Chows, Samoiedas, Huskys e Akitas.

“UM groomer que sabe trabalhar com Chow-Chow, sendo esta a raça mais popular nesse grupo, também saberá trabalhar com um Spitz. Entretanto, este detalhe às vezes passa desapercebido pelos groomers”, explica o esteticista canino Sergio Villasanti, da Escola Estética Canina.

OS CÃES do grupo 5 têm como característica a naturalidade, isto é, a pelagem deve ser sem marcas de tesoura ou máquina. No entanto, Villasanti conta que, como os proprietários desses cães na realidade querem mais comodidade quando o assunto é cuidados com o pêlo, o corte da pelagem é normalmente feito de uma forma que o cão tenha a aparência de um “bichinho de pelúcia”.

O GROOMER também afirma que esse tipo de corte arredondado, natural e sem marcas só é possível pelas mãos de um profissional experiente. Já a manutenção semanal pode ser feita pelos donos com a ajuda de uma escova de pino sem bolinha na ponta e desembaraçante, que preservam o sub-pêlo e ainda dão uma aparência mais cheia. “Os banhos podem ser dados a cada mês, pois são raças que não possuem odor. E nunca use uma rasqueadeira desde a raiz ou um pente para a retirada do sub-pêlo”, indica Villasanti para todos os cães do grupo 5 da FCI.

Temperamento e Característica do Lulu da Pomerânia

O temperamento do Lulu da Pomerânia (Spitz Alemão) é ser principalmente alegre, afetuoso, astuto, sagaz, vivíssimo e vigilante.

O reduzido tamanho, o temperamento dócil, o espírito ativo e a robustez levaram o Lulu da Pomerânia a ser considerado excelente companhia.
Preocupar-se com seu dono é uma das mais marcantes características da raça, adaptando-se, inclusive, à sua maneira de ser.
Extremamente corajoso, o Pomerânia defende seu território sem restrições. Obediente, mas de personalidade forte, é companheiro sempre fiel.

Com estranhos – Mostra-se um pouco reservado no primeiro contato com estranhos, mas, quando percebe que a pessoa foi aceita por toda a família, muda de temperamento, pulando no colo, buscando brinquedos e fazendo festa.

Destrutividade – Não é um cão com característica destrutiva, até mesmo quando filhote. É possível que pegue uma meia ou algo do gênero, mas nada difícil de corrigir; basta mostrar a ele o que pode e o que não pode fazer, que aprenderá facilmente. Nessa fase alguns brinquedos e ossinhos que ajudem com os dentes são importantes, pois assim ele aprende a diferenciar o que é dele, que poderá ser mordido e até mesmo destruído, e o que é dos donos, não podendo ser mexido.

Inteligência – É o principal ponto forte no temperamento do Lulu da Pomerânia (Spitz Alemão). É um cão muito expressivo, demonstrando com clareza o que deseja. Consegue-se ver no seu semblante o que sente ou deseja; quando não, ele mostra – por exemplo, late para mostrar que a vasilha de água precisa ser reabastecida, que está com fome ou que precisa sair para fazer suas necessidades. O Spitz adora ver sua coleira ou a bolsinha de passeio na mão de seu dono, pois passear é uma de suas atividades prediletas.

Com outros cães e animais – Embora haja exceções, a política do Lulu da Pomerânia é a da boa vizinhança. Simpatiza-se com a maioria dos animais domésticos, tendo uma vida tranquila com gatos, roedores, aves e outros. Vive bem inclusive com exemplares do mesmo sexo e de diferentes portes. Gosta muito de brincar e correr, preferindo, muitas vezes, cães maiores, mais dispostos, que aguentam a velocidade desses pequeninos. Mas deve-se ter atenção redobrada, pois é um cão pequeno e, mesmo sem querer, pode acabar machucado pelo seu amigo maior.
Com a família – Adora estar perto dos membros da casa e faz festa para todos, porém geralmente escolhe um dono em particular, o qual seguirá pelos cômodos e de vez em quando será chamado para uma brincadeira ou um cafuné. Apesar de gostar de atenção, o Spitz Alemão não é um cão carente, que exige demonstrações de carinho e afeto constantes. Para ele poucas horas de atenção por dia são suficientes, sendo uma ótima companhia para donos que precisam se ausentar parte do dia.

Obediência – Este é um ponto surpreendente do temperamento do Lulu da Pomerânia, pois não é um cão de se fingir de surdo, sabendo bem que as ordens de seu dono devem ser obedecidas. Muito fácil de ser adestrado, entende que está errado só pela forma de olhar, tendo facilidade de aprender tanto as regras de adestramento básico como as de boa convivência.

Grau de atividade – O Spitz é muito ativo. No caso de haver outros cães em casa, brincará com eles o dia inteiro; caso não haja, vão se divertir sozinhos. Adoram brincar com bolinhas, de pega-pega e às vezes pedem um pouco da participação do dono em suas brincadeiras. O ideal é que haja brinquedos e ossinhos variados para que o Pomerânia possa gastar sua energia brincando com o que é permitido, e não com os objetos e móveis da casa.
